Sierra Leone Yoga Project
Was born to help the yoga community that rose between 2013 and 2014 in Sierra Leone to not disappear, and to keep on growing.
I was invited by Ana Cortes, the woman who was teaching yoga in Kabala in 2013, to be part of this amazing project and to be responsible for the graphic design, audiovisual work, and website interface. We both worked to fundraise money by designing and selling t-shirts, calendars and tote bags in 2018, and by offering donation classes of yoga in Spain and France in order to send some yoga materials to Sierra Leone and to be able to travel and produce a film documentary (still in process) in memory of Tamba Fayia (who passed away during Ebola outbreak). Sierra Leone Yoga Project is still on going and our hope is for it to continue growing.
The identity and fundraising
The intention of designing a “fun” and colorful logotype was to express the beauty of a such joyful and hopeful project. I also created some illustrated “characters” inspired by the yoga students that Ana portrayed with her camera in 2013 to print them over the fundraising products. You can check some of them below:
